Find out what you need to be able to travel to Malaysia

Even though Malaysia has opened its borders to foreigners there are certain requirements to enter the country. On this page we’ve briefly prepared all that is necessary for your arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

We hope all our guests have a smooth and stress-free experience in KL. Please make sure to read through this page carefully. We will keep updating it as and when we receive new information.

Traveller’s Checklist

 

Visa

 

Depending on your nationality, you may or may not need a visa to enter Malaysia. In case you need a visa you may apply for a Tourist Visa. Some nationalities including Indians can apply for e-visa, the process for which is simple and convenient.

Vaccination

 

It is pertinent for all travelers arriving in Malaysia to be fully-vaccinated to avoid quarantine. Whether or not your are fully-vaccinated depends on the number of shots and the type of vaccine you’ve received. Two doses might not be enough and you may need a third shot. Click here and read the chart carefully to check whether you are considered fully-vaccinated.

 

MySejahtera App

 

Once you’ve got the visa sorted (if you need one) and have vaccination proof and air tickets in hand,

  1. Download MySejahtera App

  2. Create an account: Make sure to register via email address, you will receive an OTP on your email to confirm your account then proceed to login and enter all personal details.

  3. Update Vaccination Details: Click on the Traveller button from the homepage then click on Overseas Vaccination Details and input all the necessary details for all the doses you’ve got. Make sure to have your vaccination certificate screenshot handy, as you’ll need to upload it for ever vaccine shot you’ve received. (Note. it does not accept pdf, you’ll need a screenshot). After you’ve submitted all the details, you’ll receive a digital certificate on the Profile page after 24 hours.

  4. Get the Travelers card: This step needs to be completed 7 days before your departure. Click on the Traveller button on the homepage of the app and then click on Travel for xxx to fill up the digital pre-departure form. Once the form is submitted, you’ll receive your blue color Traveller’s Card in the Profile page after 24 hours. This will be checked at checkin counters at the airport and on arrival as well.

Make sure to carry your original physical vaccination certificate and a copy when you travel to Malaysia.
